Tashkent

Amidst the sands, where merchants crowded. A journey unfolds, where the dreams are shrouded. Ancient whispers flow through the breeze. In every step of history that frees

- Poems of Uzbekistan

My flight to Tashkent Uzbekistan was just after lunch arrived at the airport in plenty of time to discover chaos and confusion at the Uzbekistan airways counter in that no one was there and the queue was long. The driver went to information to discover it was delayed no time given on how long the board told you nothing . Nothing you can do but stay calm so I sat and waited the driver pointed out the counter the checking would occur and I’d spied other travellers going to Tashkent eventually at 4.00pm you could check-in I should be arriving a this time. The board still didn’t say what time we leave, I made to the Lounge and finally saw we would depart at about 6 pm no other context. At last on the plane i sat with a Lady from Kazakhstan (very good English) she had been in Delhi for a week while her mother had medical treatment, We watched the flight route on the screen only to discover we were not going north over the mountains but south towards Mumbai then west towards Dubai then north to Tashkent the journey was now 6 hours omg to go around the troubles north of India I arrived just before midnight but let’s put it into perspective I had to be back at the airport at 6.00 am for a flight to Buhkura.

So my view of Tashkent is limited to what I saw through the night lights and early morning journey nothing to share

Note to self should have arrived a day early to Tashkent instead of shopping in Delhi.
