Delhi
“Success is a journey, not a destination. It requires constant effort, vigilance and revelations”
-Mark Twain
After 13.5 hour direct flight from Melbourne Australia I arrived to the smog that is Delhi. moving through the airport passport control and customers I was meeting driver and in the car in less than 30 minutes wow I wish all airports were like this.
Traffic was chaotic but it was Thursday night at peak hour. I was staying a The Connaught hotel as it was about location location great for exploring the area and some shopping.
The weather was warm not too humid but the air could be better. I set out on a walk but to be told many locals that many shops were closed due to the troubles in the north (Kashmir India/Pakistan). The further I went there really weren’t many shops open. I meet a man from Nepal he was a tax accountant said I could go to other shops which would be open maybe too far to walk suggested a tuk tuk would be the best he detected my hesitation concern about being ripped off .
He secured a driver at his recommended fee of 20 rupee (37 cents AUD ) such value. I went shopping he waited for me not sure if he was busy then drove me for some site seeing and another shop so I paid him 200 rupee smallest note I had I’ve his WhatsApp if anyone needs it.
The hotel had the best tiles I’ve seen I. Along tie even the porcelain tiger was perfect
